Savannah Animal Hospital’s Small Animal Rehabilitation Service is a new service dedicated to using physical rehabilitation to help patients achieve an overall improved quality of life by focusing on mobility, strength, fitness and cardiovascular health.
Physical rehabilitation is as beneficial to pets as it is to human beings. It is important for pets suffering from orthopedic injuries, recovering from orthopedic surgeries, experiencing osteoarthritis, and/or living with obesity. For athletic and/or performance pets, physical rehabilitation can help them to overcome strains or sprains bringing them back to their full potential. Pets that have been diagnosed with neurologic disease can often gain mobility and function back with time and therapy. And finally, physical rehabilitation can prevent young, growing pets with injuries from disproportionate muscle and bone healing.
