We at Savannah Animal Hospital understand that there is “no place like home,” but it would be our pleasure to provide your pet with a safe, comfortable, and fun place to stay while you are away from home. It is our goal to provide quality care and individualized attention while your pet is here.
Reservations are required. Our hotel capacity is limited. For those occasions when advance reservations are not possible, we will make every effort to meet your needs.
For those new to our facility, a pre-boarding exam: an examination of your pet while you are present is required prior to boarding. This visit enables our doctor’s and staff to meet you and for you to become familiar with us so that should your pet need treatment during his/her stay at our hotel that you would be comfortable with the care given.
Monday thru Friday: 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
The Hotel will be closed Tuesdays from 1:00 until 3:00 for staff training. Guests are welcome to check in/out before 12:30 or after 3:00. (There will not be a half-day late fee charge on Tuesdays)
Saturday: 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Sunday: Closed for deep cleaning.
Closed on Holidays.
Guests checking-out before 2 p.m. will not be charged for that day.
Guests checking-out after 2 p.m. will be charged a half-day fee.
For the health of our guests the following vaccinations must be up to date.
Written proof of vaccination status is required for guests not vaccinated at our hospital.
Dogs: distemper, rabies, and bordetella
Cats: distemper and rabies
All guests will be checked for fleas and ticks at check-in. Any treatments administered for fleas and ticks will be added to the hotel charges
All guests are asked to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner. Any guests that are regarded as aggressive and/or a potential danger to staff and/or other guests may not be permitted to remain in the hotel and/or they may not be allowed boarding under normal circumstances.
Please inform the hotel staff of any existing medical conditions. Guests requiring medications during their stay will be charged a daily medication fee. At the doctors discretion guests with more serious medical conditions may be required to stay in the hospital and will be charged hospital rates. We will make every attempt to notify clients of any change in boarding arrangements.
To comply with AAHA standards, all prescriptions must be in a container with original prescription label as provided by the pharmacy or doctor.
Hill’s Science Diet Adult Dry feline and canine food is included with all hotel stays. If your pet has special dietary needs please provide these foods. If a special diet must be provided while boarding, a charge for these diets will be applied. Our guests are provided meals twice daily and have fresh water available all day. Please inform the staff of any special feeding needs your pet may have
We supply bedding for all of our guests. If you would like to bring your pet’s personal bedding and/or other belongings for his/her stay, we would be happy to have them. Please label all pet belongings. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee the condition of the beddings/belongings upon return.
Occasionally our guests will develop medical conditions due to the stress of a new place, eating different foods, playing, etc. Any guest showing signs of illness or injury will be examined by a doctor (if possible your pet’s regular doctor) and treatments will be rendered at the level of care selected by you at check-in. Charges will be applied unless insurance has been purchased. Every effort will be made to contact you concerning your pet’s condition.
Our canine guests are exercised 3 times daily and feline guests are let out of cages at least once a day. If your pet would enjoy additional playtime, socialization or attention such as brushing then he/she would benefit from our Romp & Play service. This optional service is available twice a day for at least 15 minutes each let out. Puppies less than 4 months of age are REQUIRED to have Romp & Play and the cost will be added to the hotel charges.
This service is available if you are concerned about your pet spending the night without staff being present due to health concerns. Your pet will be transferred to the hospital, will be taken out at least one additional time before going to bed, will and will be monitored by our emergency staff until the Hotel Staff returns at 7:30 a.m. at which time he/she will be returned to the Hotel for daytime services.
Should your pet develop conditions that may be associated with boarding, such as, vomiting, diarrhea, skin or eye irritation and/or respiratory conditions while staying at the Hotel or for up to 3 days after returning home, Hotel Pet Insurance will cover the costs of treatment. Hotel Pet insurance, however, will not cover more complicated gastrointestinal issues such as bloat and/or torsion or orthopedic issues such as cranial cruciate ruptures that may develop. This must be agreed upon at admission.
Dogs staying in the hotel for 5 or more nights can receive a Spa bath with a nail trim and ear cleaning for $29.00.
Daycare is offered Monday – Friday. Reservations are recommended. Daycare provides a way for owners to begin socializing their pets with people and other people’s pets. Daycare for puppies can help develop or maintain a daily routine and to incorporate a mid-day feeding and assist with potty training. We can individualize your puppy’s routine to meet your needs. A Bordetella vaccine and at least a second set of booster vaccinations are required for puppies attending daycare. Daycare for adult pets adds socialization and activities to their day. Drop off time is 7:15am. There is an $18.00 early drop off, if you need to drop off prior to 7:15am.
Daycare Insurance is available and covers incidental events which may occur during the day that require medical attention. In daycare, we also utilize a “3-Strike Policy” to ensure the safety of your pet. If a pet inflicts a wound on another it is considered a strike. With three strikes, a pet will no longer be able to attend daycare.
