We at Savannah Animal Hospital understand that there is “no place like home,” but it would be our pleasure to provide your pet with a safe, comfortable, and fun place to stay while you are away from home. It is our goal to provide quality care and individualized attention while they are here.
Reservations are required. Our Hotel capacity is limited. For those occasions when advance reservations are not possible, we will make every effort to meet your needs. The staff checks on the health and well being of all our guests daily. Any problems with your pet are brought to the attention of the hospital staff.
For those new to our facility, an examination with both you and your pet in attendance is required prior to boarding. This visit enables our doctors and staff to meet you and become familiar with you and your pet should treatment be necessary during his/her stay at our Hotel.
All guests are asked to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner. Any guests that is regarded as aggressive and a potential danger to staff and other guests may not be permitted to remain in the Hotel, and they may not be allowed boarding under normal circumstances.
Please inform the Hotel staff of any existing medical conditions. Guests requiring medications during their stay will be charged a daily medication fee. At the doctors discretion guests with more serious medical conditions may be required to stay in the hospital and will be charged hospital rates. We will make every attempt to notify clients of any change in boarding arrangements. Occasionally our guests will develop a medical condition due to the stress of a new place and/or eating different foods. Should a problem develop, an examination will be done and treatment rendered. Unless insurance is purchased, fees will be applied.
All guests will be checked for fleas and ticks at check-in. Any treatments prescribed for fleas and ticks will be added to the Hotel charges. All cats/dogs will be administered CapStar upon admission which is a 24 hour flea killer.
Hill’s Science Diet Adult Dry feline and canine food is included with all Hotel stays. If your pet has special dietary needs please provide these foods. If a special diet must be provided while boarding, a charge for these diets will be applied. Our guests are provided meals twice daily and have fresh water available all day. Please inform the staff of any special feeding needs your pet may have.
We supply bedding for all of our guests. If you would like to bring your pet’s personal bedding and/or other belongings for his/her stay, we would be happy to have them. Please label all pet belongings. Unfortunately, we are not responsible for any lost bedding/belongings if they were not labeled.
Any guest showing signs of illness or injury will be examined by a doctor (if possible your pet’s regular doctor). Treatments for these conditions will be prescribed by the doctor as needed and charges applied unless insurance is purchased. Every effort will be made to contact you concerning your pet’s condition. The level of care given is the one designated on the Hotel Check-In Form.
Our canine guests are exercised 4 times daily; feline and exotic guests are exercised 2 times daily. If your pet would enjoy additional playtime, socialization or attention such as brushing then he/she would benefit from Special Attention Service. This optional service is available twice a day for 1/2 hour. Puppies less than 4 months of age are required to have S.A.S., and the cost will be added to the Hotel charges. Although we recommend S.A.S. for all puppies, it is REQUIRED for puppies 4 months of age and younger.
Should your pet develop conditions that may be associated with boarding, such as, vomiting, diarrhea, skin or eye irritation, or respiratory conditions while staying at the Hotel or for up to 3 days after returning home, Hotel Pet Insurance will cover the costs of treatment. Hotel Pet insurance, however, will not cover more complicated gastrointestinal issues such as bloat and/or torsion or orthopedic issues such as cranial cruciate ruptures that may develop. This must be agreed upon at admission.
